Bathing Beauty

Its officially summer, the pool is open and ready for swimmers. Last year Lilly had to ease herself into the pool and then coaxed off the steps. She was just starting to love it when it was time to close the pool up for the season. We worried that it would take half the summer to get her excited about swimming again, but that wasn't the case at all. On Memorial Day, the first day that I took her to swim, we met Wes, Kristy and a couple of friends at the pool. She didn't waste any time stripping off her sundress and asking Uncle Wes if she could get in. He said 'yes', of course, and she spent the rest of the day in the water, only coming out to demand snacks or drinks.

Jack seems to really like the water. Like everything else, he took to swimming like it was no big deal...as long as he can bring his giraffe along.

I'm so brave...I'm posting a picture of myself in a bathing suit on the internet...granted I'm under the water.

I don't know if this actually counts as swimming, since Lilly's not even touching the water, but she sure thought it was fun.

Lilly started swim lessons today, so maybe next time there will be some pictures of her actually in the water and not just being carried over it.
